Out-of-sample predictions: Help & guidance
I've been attempting to generate out-of-sample predictions for (logged) broadband speeds. I have repeated measures broadband speed data for four years (level 1) nested within 174 local authority areas (level 2), nested within 10 UK regions (level 3). The (logged and grand mean centred) predictors ar...

Re: R2MLwiN: Error while obeying batch file: Wrong number of output columns
Dear Chris,
That appears to have done it - thanks!
Also, I appreciate you pointing out the difference between this complex 1 variance model and the random slopes model. Once I've finished my analysis I must cross validate my code on this site.

R2MLwiN: Error while obeying batch file: Wrong number of output columns
I'm trying to recreate MCMC Guide 06 with my data by setting up a random slopes model and then storing the residuals for prediction. I keep receiving the following error : Error while obeying batch file... wrong number of output columns (full screen shot of error message attached). Here's my code wh...

Re: MLM in MLwiN with Censored Data
Dear Bill, Thank you very much for your advice. In which case, do you have to accept that your dependent variable is sometimes not normally distributed when using censored data? After taking a random sample of 1,000 observations from my very large data set (1> million observations), here is the dist...

MLM in MLwiN with Censored Data
I could really use some advice please on multilevel modelling in MLwiN with censored data. I have been using a variance components model to analyse broadband speed at the postcode level (n= ~1 million), nested within clusters at the Middle Super Output Layer (n= ~7,000). Around half of the independe...
