Re: Imputation to level 2 variable: vary within group?

Dear Chris,

I am sorry for taking time to reply.
I have checked the .txt file generated by Stata, and high-value IDs appeared intact. Just to be sure (and out of curiousity), I imported .txt to excel and those high-value IDs remained correct in exel too.

Thank you for thining about this.

Re: Imputation to level 2 variable: vary within group?

Dear Chris, Thank you for you swift and helpful reply. I was not aware fo the updated manual - thank you for referring to it. I have checked the Stata code for realcomimpute and .txt file generated by it. Both appeared correct. Also, when household income was observed, it was constant within househo...

Imputation to level 2 variable: vary within group?

Dear Forum users, My data are comprised of 2 levels, individuals (=level 1) are nested within household (=level 2,identifier is household_id that ranges from 1 to several tens of thousands). One of response variables in my imputation model is a level 2 variable (household income), which should have ...

Re: Error message for categorical variable imputation

Dear Jamie Thank you so much for your suggestion, but I have updated the REALCOM last week, and the error messages are from updated REALCOM. It might be my silly mistakes, but as far as I see, the syntax I used (and got the error message) was working untill the moment before I update the REALCOM.. T...

Re: Error message for categorical variable imputation

Dear Jamoo Thank you so much for your posting. I have updated the REALCOM a few days ago, and it keep giving me this message. Yes, the drive to which the REALCOM installed might have problem on permission (though I am not entirely sure). In general, I was advised to used other drive for my daily wor...

Re: Error message for categorical variable imputation

Thank you for the reply. I am sorry for unclear explanation, previously. I have been using multicategory variables as response variables. But, as they were never accepted except for 1 ordered categorical variable, I thought of trying to use dummy variables to impute these unaccepted categorical vari...

Re: How to make changes in MCMC estimation settings?

Thank you for the information. I am not familiar with statistical settings, but when I changed MCMC estimation settings to 10 (Burn-in length), 100 (Number of iterations), and 10(Scree refresh rate), it imputed quite faster than previously. I will consult to people about the ideal settings, but for ...

How to make changes in MCMC estimation settings?

Hi. Please allow me further question. I would like to reduce the time of imputation as my dataset is more than n=100,000 and it takes very very long (around 20 minutes) to do first iteration. I don't know what this MCMC estimation settings, so so far I have been using default setting. Is there a goo...

Error message for categorical variable imputation

Hi. I have been having a problem to impute some categorical variables. These variables have 4, 10, and 12 categories. Ideally, I would like to use m. as they are not strictly ordered, but could do with o. The problem is that both o. and m. do not work for all these three variables. For example, a va...
