Thanks, Chris
Due to University regulations, I'm not allowed to send you the worksheet. I'll attempt to fit the model in a small sample of the dataset to replicate the error; I'll try to send that to you as soon as possible. Just one thing: can I send it to your email instead of attaching it to ...

MCMC error 0327
Dear all,
I'm fitting a model using MCMC estimation. After running a 20k chain, I stored the estimates and saved the worksheet as usual; nothing wrong so far. Afterwards, I closed MLwiN and reopened the worksheet a few hours later and got the following error message:
"MCMC Error 0327: This ...

Re: mcmc error in cross-classified model
Hi Chris
Thank you for your reply, I wanted to tell you that I think I've managed to get around this problem. I simply didn't use the IGLS estimates as starting values: After specifying additional explanatory variables, I switched to MCMC estimation straight away, without fitting the model with ...

mcmc error in cross-classified model
Dear all,
I'm trying to fit a cross-classified multivariate normal response model, but I haven't been able to do so because of an error I can't get rid of. The empty models (2 and more levels) as well as the model with 2 covariates have run perfectly, but when I tried to add more covariates I ...

mlwin in W8
Dear all,
Does anyone have issues when running mlwin in Windows 8? What happens to me is that after using mlwin for a while and running a couple of models, the User Interface becomes painfully slow, taking a lot of time to comply the most simple commands, such as adding a term.
What I usually do ...

Re: crash with no error message
Thank you very much, George
I'm sorry for the delayed reply, I was keeping myself busy with other statistical issues.
Dropping the missing cases did solve the crashing problem, thanks!!!
Anyway, I was wondering, is it a valid procedure to simply delete the cases with missing values in the ...

crash with no error message
Dear all
I've been having a problem with crashes both in MLwiN and runmlwin. I'll try to describe the problem the best that I can, but I haven't even got error messages from MLwiN or runmlwin, both just crashed.

Re: overflow allocating smatrix
I'm sorry for not replying before, I see that I'm not the only one with this problem.
I've tried this solution that Chris posted last and it seems to have solved the problem.
Thanks!

overflow allocating smatrix
Dear all,
While trying to fit a Variance Component Model with 4 levels using runmlwin, I got the following error message:

"C:(...)" is the path of the temp file originated from the do-file (I think ...
