Re: Random intercept vs. random slopes in 2LevelImpute

Hi - looking at your input string, it's likely that the choice of distribution for the MOI is causing the problem. It's specified as 'Multivariate Normal', but only one response variable for the MOI is specified (ivh), rather than the larger number (>1) of response variables Stat-JR will be expectin...

Re: Random intercept vs. random slopes in 2LevelImpute

Hi, Sorry that the supporting documentation is a little scant on detail concerning outputs. Stat-JR doesn't currently hide any of the outputted files, so they're all available to the user to inspect - good in terms of transparency, but does mean that not all outputted files will be relevant to each ...

Re: Random intercept vs. random slopes in 2LevelImpute

Hi - seems fine, although you may want to investigate different estimation settings, such as longer intervals between iterations, etc. (e.g. section 3 of Carpenter et al's (2011) REALCOM article may offer some useful guidance http://www.jstatsoft.org/v45/i05).

Re: 2LevelImpute

Hi - I ran your query past one of my colleagues, Harvey Goldstein, who provided the following comments: The real issue is whether the MOI has random coefficients. If it does and these have no missing data they can be treated in one of two ways. They can be included as responses in the IM so that the...

Re: Random intercept vs. random slopes in 2LevelImpute

Hi - your input string for your random intercepts model seems fine. With regard to your specification for a random slopes model, it is returning an error because your 'tcodec' variable varies within-hospital (i.e. a given hospital does not have the same value for 'tcodec' for each row of the dataset...

Re: 2LevelImpute

Hi - thanks for your queries - I've answered them below: 1) Does the template allow an ordinal/multinomial response variable for the MOI? The answer is currently no, but you can, of course, use the imputed datasets generated by the 2LevelImpute template to fit models via other means. 2) Again, in th...

Re: errorr gcc compiler

Hi - thanks for the information. You seem to be running an older version of g++, from 2011. That's not a version we've tested Stat-JR with, so it's possible that may be contributing to the problem. The .cmd file we sent you was meant to set the path to C:\MinGW\bin, but we've realised there was a mi...

Re: errorr gcc compiler

Hi - could you check what version of g++ you're running? Typing

Code: Select all

g++ --version
at the command prompt should do it.

Thanks,

Richard

Re: 2LevelImpute

Hi again, It's come to our attention that a new version of MinGW, released 26th August 2014, no longer requires the workaround previously described on this page (now updated - the old workaround is described at the bottom): http://www.bristol.ac.uk/cmm/software/statjr/order-statjr/ So it may be, if ...

Re: 2LevelImpute

Hi - the extract you sent is missing a message from the compiler to tell us where the problem is, so if possible it would be great if you could please track that down. E.g. if you could run it again, and scroll up the command window to see if any further error messages are returned (if the error com...
