Re: Bootstrap runmlwin
Hi Chris, Many thanks for these links. I am afraid rclass is not workable; I have run a trial. Generally, I think eclass would contain estimation results and rclass e.g. R2 / log-likelihood / etc., but then again I am not sure I have a firm grasp as to how MLwiN returns the results to Stata. I am es...

Re: Can you stop MLwiN from popping up?
Dear all,
I am afraid I am still facing this issue. MLwiN pops up even if I am working in e.g. a Word document.
I am using the latest release of runmlwin (with nopause option) and Stata16.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Best wishes

Re: Bootstrap runmlwin
Thank you for getting back to me, Chris, highly appreciated. It turns out that I am stuck at an earlier stage; accessing the results after the bootstrap has finished. The program below runs all iterations, but culminates in a "name conflict". When adding "eclass", program bootMLM...

Bootstrap runmlwin
Dear all I would like to bootstrap over two regressions, one estimate in Stata, and one using runmlwin. This is the way I would set it up. Would there be any concerns associated with such an approach from (run)MLwiN side? Many thanks in advance! program bootMLM glm A B C, r // first stage predict R,...

Re: Increase transmission speed from runmlwin to Stata
Thank you for the suggestion and the quick reply. I am afraid using mlnscript.exe does not yield any noticeable improvement. What slows the model is the time it takes to "export" the model results from MLwiN / mlnscript to the Stata output, i.e. for each coefficient D_Year2 D_Year3 (...) i...

Three-level model with two random slopes
Dear all I am trying to fit a (nested) three-level model with a three-way interaction, where there are constituent terms of the moderation at all three levels. i.e. the response is observed at level 1 (binary), moderator1 at level1, moderator2 at level2, and moderator3 at level3. Moderators1 and 2 a...

Increase transmission speed from runmlwin to Stata
Dear all I am using runmlwin to estimate models in MLwiN and export the results to Stata. While the runtime of the models in MLwiN is great, the speed of transmission back to Stata is rather slow. I suppose this is due to the fact that I need to include ~30 fixed effects. Is there any way to increas...

cross-classified MLM - MCM - random and fixed effects
Dear all I am working with a cross-classified MLM where there are three non-hierarchically nested effects: Geo1 Geo2 and Time (repeated cross-section). My interest is with a predictor at the Geo1 level and I seek to control for all Geo2 and Time variance. Hence, I am using fixed effects (i.e. dummie...

Re: Cross-classified logit model: Getting the ICCs
Dear Bill, dear all, I am afraid I have a last question on this matter. The results for the ICCs/VPCs are very sensitive to the chosen starting values. *three non-nested random terms matrix b = (.20,.20,.20,.20,.20) runmlwin DV cons, level4(cluster1: cons) level3(cluster2: cons) /// level2(cluster3:...
