Covariances using orthogonal polynomials

Hi all, I am fitting a 3-level repeated measures model with random intercept and slope at levels 2 (ID) and 3 (group), with a fixed quadratic time predictor which can take 3 values corresponding to the 3 measurement occasions. Something like: y_ijk = B_0ijk*cons + B_1jk * Time_ijk + B_2 * Time^2_ijk...

Issue with formula specification

Hi all, I am having some troubles passing a formula to MLwiN. I have a 3-level repeated measures model with random intercept and slopes at levels 3 (Group) and 2 (ID) and a fixed quadratic time component. I have tried both: > runMLwiN(Median.yr ~ 1 + poly(Time,2) + (1 + Time |Group) + (1 + Time |ID)...

[SOLVED] design vector at level 2 is the wrong length

*SOLVED* It was indeed the missing data. Once I listwise-deleted them and tried again building up from an empty model, it worked. set highlight styles crash

Hi all, I am experiencing crashes every time I try to set highlight styles. This happens: 1) when I click on Graphs > Set highlight styles from the main window 2) When I click on Graph options > Set styles from the graph display window The error returned is: "Run-time error '380': Invalid prope...

Re: MLwiN crash on 'clear' or 'delete term'

Ehe, obviously it doesn't do that anymore. The crash was some days ago, so I don't remember exactly what I was doing. I'll keep my eyes peeled and will remember to post if it happens again in a similar situation.

Thank you

k.

Re: MLwiN crash on 'clear' or 'delete term'

I had the same problem when I wanted to add a quadratic term to my equation. I wanted to remove one covariate and re-add it whilst specifying that it would be a polynomial, but that was followed by a crash each time. I had to re-start with an empty model. I could try to reproduce the error if that c...

Checking assumptions of random part

Dear all, I would like, if possible, some help to get me started in ML analysis. I have fitted a 2-level random slope model. There is a very useful slide summarising the various assumptions behind this model: http://www.bristol.ac.uk/cmm/images/rs/21.gif How can I test all these assumptions to see i...
