comma instead of dot

Post by Elma »

Hello everyone,

I've got a problem with my data in MLwin. I've prepared my dataset in SPSS, when I upload this sav. file to MLwin the dot's (.) changes into comma's (,).
In the variabele (or names) view, i see comma's (,) as decimal sign, in de data view I see dots (.) Is this a problem? I've always learnd that MLwin can't handle comma's.
I know you can easily change the settings of your PC (changing it from dutch into english), but I can't do that since I'm working on a remote access workspace.
I've asked if the could change the settings, but that can't be done because then the settings of all the users will be changed.
How can I solve this problem?

Hope anyone could help me!

Greetings Elma

ps: sorry for my pour English...

This may just be a display issue, if it doesn't crash or give any error messages then you should get the same results regardless of the display format. One thing it might be worth watching is the commands generated in the "command interface" window. If numbers sent to these commands appear with commas then there may be a problem.

Thank you chris for your quick reaction!
The estimations for the model I run seem 'normal', so I think it's not a problem. It's, like you say, probably just a display issue.
In the equation window I see dot's instead of comma's, so that seems to be okay.
