Format dyadic data for MCMC model

Post by JeanSebastien »

Hi,
Noob here. Strangely, I can't find any literature on how to format dyadic data for an MCMC model, although repeated measures have to be in long format. I suspect MlWin requires the wide format (don't know why) for dyadic data.
My data is comprised of dyads, individuals can be part of multiple dyads, and repeated measures (6 censuses). Should I format one dyad per row with repeated measures?
Can someone help me on that? Is there some practical examples somewhere? Thanks a lot!

Hi JS,
You may need to give more details here as to what type of multilevel model you are fitting. Generally one would expect one row per response so it would depend on what level of data the responses were measured on - if this is dyads then you might have a multiple membership structure with dyads nested within individuals. Does that help?
Best wishes,
Bill.
