Sampling Weights

Post by Dylan121989 »

Dear All,

Currently I'm prepping an analysis with complex sample survey weights for level 2.
Is there documentation in any of the manuals or MLWin resources to handle this in the programme?

Many thanks,
Dylan

The best documentation that I know of for using weights in MLwiN is the following:

I'd like to estimate a multiple-membership model, but my data require that I use sampling weights. Am I simply out of luck?

Multiple membership with sampling weights is not possible with MCMC in MLwiN. You can set up multiple membership models with (R)IGLS using special commands (see chapter 19 in the MLwiN manual: http://www.bristol.ac.uk/cmm/software/m ... man-09.pdf). If you set it up this way then it should be possible to apply weights via the the weights menu/commands.
