Level 2 units

Post by hdilk0507 »

My data set consists of 86 level 2 units. In the names window it appears min:1 & max: 86. But when the model is stored, it says number of level 2 units is 87. Why is this?

It's possible that your data isn't sorted in the order of the model hierarchy. MLwiN generally uses the fact that the unit number has changed to determine that it is the next unit so if you had the same unit number twice, but with a different one in between it would be counted as two different units.
