Hello, I’m a first year Master’s student in Japan. Now, I’m studying about survival analysis. But, I could not understand the difference between accelerated lifetime (log-duration) models and proportional hazard models. Can you tell me such difference and let me know the reference regarding that? Also, which one is used better by bio-statistician recently? I would be very grateful if you could help me.

I am sorry that this is not a general statistics forum but one for the MlwiN software.
But here is a short answer - one can think of approaches on a continuum from non-parametric (robust) to highly parametric and demanding in terms of assumptions. In terms of survival models of survival models this goes from Kaplan-Meier estimates to log-duration models, with the semi-parametric Cox proportional hazards somewhere in between.
